Drishyam 2 left audiences stunned with Georgekutty’s near-perfect cover-up. Naturally, expectations for Drishyam 3 were sky-high. Let’s dig in to know whether it is worth your watch. If I had to review Drishyam 3 in one sentence, I would say that this is a below-average sequel that struggles to live up to the standards of its predecessors. If I had to state the positives, the performances are good. Mohanlal has done his part as he does in every other film. The technical aspects provide adequate support to the performances. But I must say, most of the film gives off a serial vibe.
When coming to the limitations, the screenplay is the primary devil of the film. The pacing was too slow that there was nothing except the climax act which gives us the thriller energy.
Overall, Drishyam 3 remains watchable due to its performances and franchise legacy, but its screenplay prevents it from reaching the heights of its predecessors.
Theatre experience note:
Excessive advertisements in PVR before the screening affected my viewing experience.
