I saw Housemaid and we’re going deep into whether it’s worth your watch or not. Housemaid is directed by Paul Feig (Ghostbusters 2016 fame) starring Amanda Seyfried, Sydney Sweeney, Brandon Sklenar, and others. This is an adaptation of Freida McFadden’s novel of the same name Technically, the film is strong, with solid filmmaking, excellent performances — particularly from Amanda Seyfried – and tension that keeps us hooked.”.
Basically, this is a pulp movie prioritizing style over substance. Thin characterization is one aspect of the movie I personally struggled with; the rest of the negatives weren’t particularly noticeable to me.
Overall, if you’re looking for something entertaining rather than deep, this psychological thriller is for you!
